Wood TEA Report on Eclipse RenovaStrata H2

June 2026

Techno-Economic Assessment (TEA) of Eclipse Energy's RenovaStrata™ H₂ Technology

Wood conducted a comprehensive techno-economic assessment (TEA) on Eclipse Energy's RenovaStrata™ H₂ technology. The study evaluated the technical and commercial viability of generating hydrogen from depleted oil and gas reservoirs, leveraging Eclipse's proprietary subsurface microbiological technology in tandem with existing oilfield infrastructure.

The TEA comprises a rigorously modeled spectrum of technical, operational, power, and commercial scenarios to quantify the economics of full-scale deployment. The assessment concludes that RenovaStrata™ H₂ demonstrates the potential to achieve a highly disruptive levelized cost of hydrogen (LCOH) of $0.56/kg H₂ and an exceptionally low carbon intensity of 0.076 kgCO2e/kgH2.

This structural cost advantage is driven by the strategic repurposing of existing wellbores, surface, facilities, and operational ecosystems. By capitalizing on mature assets, the RenovaStrata™ H₂ process significantly compresses the capital (CapEx) and operating (OpEx) requirements traditionally associated with hydrogen production.

Woods analysis confirms that the technology is positioned to deliver ultra-low carbon hydrogen at price points fundamentally competitive with both legacy and emerging production pathways. The study establishes a definitive, data-driven framework for targeted site selection and high-margin asset deployment.

Ultimately, this assessment delivers rigorous, independent validation of RenovaStrata™ H₂’s economic fundamentals, providing the strategic blueprint for Eclipse Energy’s progression toward commercial-scale commercialization.
